THE STEUBEN HOUSE
HISTORIC NEW BRIDGE LANDING
RIVER EDGE, NEW JERSEY

This 18th century Dutch house was once used by General Von Steuben during the Revolutionary War. HMR’s work involved the restoration of deteriorated exterior features and the replication of elements, which had been removed or changed during previous construction projects. The work included structural repairs and replication of the original front porch, based on documentary evidence repair to wood trim, siding, chimneys, windows and doors, and removal and replacement of the deteriorated wood shingle roof including the reconstruction of roof dormers.
