ROCKINGHAM HOUSE RESTORATION
KINGSTON, NEW JERSEY

HMR provided design and construction administration services for the relocation of historic Rockingham and various outbuildings to their new location on County Route 603 near Kingston, New Jersey. Rockingham’s historical significance comes through its association with George Washington who occupied the house in 1783. This project required an approach which balanced the needs for interpretive uses and public access against the physical needs and constraints of the building and the protection of its priceless artifacts.
