FORT MOTT
RANGE FINDER TOWER
PENNSVILLE, NEW JERSEY

Restoration of this 1902 Range Finder Tower located on the Delaware River in a State and National register historic district included restoration and replication of architectural elements to match original construction. After investigative analysis and based on recommendations from consulting structural engineers, HMR proposed to the New Jersey Historic Preservation Office that the 45-foot steel tower frame be replicated. The steel connection points were severely deteriorated and the steel members could not be salvaged without compromising the integrity of the tower aesthetic.
