HILLSBOROUGH PUBLIC LIBRARY HILLSBOROUGH, NEW JERSEY
Originally housed in a strip mall storefront, the Library Board engaged HMR Architects to develop a schematic plan and program for application to the State Library construction-funding program. After successful application, HMR worked with Hillsborough Township to construct a 17,000 square foot public library in undeveloped space included in the new municipal complex. HMR then developed the schematic and collection designs into construction documents for the interior fit-out and custom fabrication of millwork. Furniture selection, bidding and installation were also coordinated by HMR. Following expansion and relocation, Library circulation tripled in the first twelve months of operation.
